HISTORY
The United Quality Management Institute (UQMI) was founded by Ronald D. Fite on January 1, 2010. It was an evolution of work that arose from the merging of several quality related organizations, dating back to 1998, that merged to form what is now known as the UQMI. The UQMI is a privately held, peer-based professional organization, serving as a private institute. It strives to ensure that students who enroll and instructors who participate, will become well rounded in their skills to promote quality of product and service to the business and academic world. The philosophy of this organization is founded upon the 3P Training Matrix: A Balanced Approach to Successful Continuous Improvement, developed by Ronald Fite. This approach requires a balanced mixture of interpersonal skill training, combined with technical skills that add standardized work practices and performance improvement techniques based upon the operational level of those people within an organization.
OUR VISION:
The Vision of the UQMI is to provide our member students with the opportunity to learn and gain recognition for the knowledge and application of continuous improvement skills. This will provide a benefit to our member students by making them more marketable, employable and valuable, while also serving our business clients by ensuring consistent proof of knowledge and the ability to apply that knowledge at the workplace.
OUR MISSION (Goal):
The United Quality Management Institute (UQMI) will provide learning opportunities through the use of distance learning, instructor led courses and self-study. Individuals are encouraged to form Local or Company Chapters as a support study group. Faculty Instructors, Independent Instructors and Consultants are utilized to offer multiple methods of course delivery. All courses require proof of concept by requiring the completion of a project that utilizes the key concepts of each course.
HOW WE WILL ENSURE QUALITY EDUCATION:
All instructors, consultants and faculty are required to submit training course syllabus for review to ensure that it meets the quality expectations of the organization and to insure content uniformity. Both certification and curriculum exams are proctored. Projects must be real applications. All certifications and degrees require the proof of concept that demonstrates application in the field of study. No life experience credits are issued for the purpose of certifications or degrees.
VALUES:
The UQMI will create an environment where wisdom will co-exist with principles. Our values will drive the principle of improvement for the benefit of people. This concept is well documented in our Code of Ethic's 22 imperatives.
