NEW BOARD MEMBER

 The UQMI is proud to announce its newest member to the Board.  Daniel Garvin was approved by the board and has graciously accepted the position of UQMI Board Member.  His appointment is effective immediately.  We feel that his presence on the board will be a great asset and bring his expertise to help promote the organization.

 Dan currently resides in the Greenville, South Carolina area where he serves as the principal with the Entrepreneur Forum LLC and an account manager with the Garvin Media Group LLC.

  He has over 25 years experience in Process Improvement Engagements through-out the world, leading diverse teams in enhancement of their Supply Chains, Warehouse Management, and Information Processing facilities.

  Dan is a passionate believer of collaboration and was key in founding an Entrepreneurial support group in Upstate South Carolina.  He has been involved in volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity, the American Red Cross, and the local literary society. He is currently an active volunteer for the Greenville Literary Society.

   Dan has been a member in the following professional organizations

-APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society)

-AMA (American Management Association)

-PMI (Project Management Institute)

-WERC (Warehouse Education and Research Council)

  We would like to recognize Richard Callahan as the winner our membership contest.  Richard will receive an opportunity to test for any of the Level I certifications for free.

 In a recent conversation with our Board, we discussed the importance of communicating to our membership some of the benefits that are available.  I think it important that everyone spend some time reviewing the website.  This is especially important on the Curriculum page.  Each certification listed is a link to a page that describes the certification requirements.  Our newest certification category is called Electives, which focus on Computer Skills.  On the Resources page, you will find additional topics, such as Company Recognition Awards.  Each underlined item is a link to a page that provides more detail.  Essentially, the UQMI offers
